Our family have been working local Welsh Woodlands for over 40 years. It all began in 1979, falling Dutch Elm diseased trees supplying local sawmills for a price of £7 per tonne delivered. From then, we built a sawmill and began to cut and provide timber products, with the installation of our first Biomass fuelled boiler in the late '80s for kiln drying.
In 2008 we began to minimise the production of timber products and in 2012 focussed solely on Biomass and renewable energy. Today Woodtek Engineering is a family run renewable energy-based company specialising in the design, development and manufacture of a range of renewable energy products.
The range of products includes Woodchip Dryers, Conveyor Systems, Wet Scrubbing Filtration Systems, Biomass Boilers, Biochar Production Systems, SWIP & IED Compliant Waste to Energy Thermal Combustion Systems and Electratherm ORC Units.

A timber kiln is in operations with heat from our R&D Biochar plant, which also heats the offices, engineering workshops and our family home. Our engineering capabilities on the same site as our family farm and Biochar plant give Woodtek Biochar the ideal facilities to provide the best available technology for the production of Biochar and make out own tests.
Trials to study the effectiveness of Biochar against the ash dieback fungus have begun on some of the 500+ Ash trees we have planted over the past 20 years, and visually we can already see the change and improvement in the foliage! See our latest update.
